This is the view from mountain of the New Castle or New Hagan looking across the town of Padberg to the mountain of the New Castle or New Hagan. Neither castle remains, only Parts of the foundation of the new castle can be seen. The Church of St. Magalena can be seen on toward the left.

Town of Padberg 2

This is the Church of St. Magdalen in the town of Padberg. The corner stone for the church was laid on July 16, 1911. The church was completed and blessed on November 12, 1912. It was solemnly consecrated in 1915. It is still in use today

This is a closeup view of the town. In the back center of the image is the church of St. Maria Magdalena, known as the new church, built in 1911-1912. To the left of the new church is the old church, originally known as St. Peters. The old church was renovated several times over the centuries but its original part dates to 1057 when it was built to serve the family of the count, the knights, and people of the village of Padberg. The Parish of Padberg is noted in documents dated 1255-1256.
