Georg Padberg (Branch W) was born July 21, 1807, in Niedermarpe, Westphalia, the first child of Christian Padberg (b. 1773 – d. March 20, 1856) and Anna Catharina Dunnebacke (b. unknown – d. 1865) who were married May 10, 1807. Georg immigrated from Germany in 1865. Georg’s brother and the seventh child of Christian and Anna Catharina was Johann Joseph. He emigrated from Germany two years later, in 1867. See Branch D for more information on Johann Joseph.

Georg married Maria Catharina Bohl. Nothing official is known about them. They died in a smallpox epidemic in Covington, Kentucky. The family story is that their children were raised by Georg’s brother, Johann Joseph, and his family in Detroit.
