Wilhelmina Padberg, (Sister Benedictina, Sister of Charity 1860-1944) Branch N, was the daughter of Johannes Franziscus Padberg (b. 1815) and Elizabeth Henke (1821-1860). Wilhelmina’s father, Johannes, was married three times. His first wife was Francisca Spechard with whom he had eight children. One of the sons was (Franciscus Ehrenfried) William Franz Padberg (Branch F) who immigrated to New Jersey in 1875. Her father’s second marriage was to her mother, Elizabeth. They had three children. One of the children did not live to adulthood. Her father’s third marriage was to Christina Wilmes with whom he had two children.
Wilhelmina immigrated in 1896 and became a teacher in Wilmette, Illinois. Sister Benedictina became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1922. Küstelberg Branch.
