Heinrich Friedrich Padberg (1870-1937) married Maria Follman (1872-1954). They had four children and remained in Germany. Their first two children died at a young age. Walter Jacob Padberg was their third child. Hedwig (1904-1994) was their fourth and last child. Walter immigrated and is Branch J. Hedwig immigrated and is Branch K.

Hedwig was born in Mannheim, Baden. She entered a religious order in Münster, Westphalia. Sister Mary Clothildis was her professed name. The order sent her to become a teaching nun in Reading, Pennsylvania. Sister Mary Clothildis and other nuns at St. Michael’s Convent helped Daniel Padberg translate the book about Padberg in 1986.
