Welcome to Padberg North America, the website for all descendants of the Padberg family in the United States and Canada. The family name has several spellings and changes that have occurred over the centuries. The four spellings are: Padberg, Padtberg, Pattberg, and Patberg and all descend from the original family traced to the ninth century in Old Saxony, in the modern state of Germany.

As the family grew and prospered in Germany over the centuries, descendants moved from the Dominion of Padberg to other parts of Germany and Europe. Today, the village of Padberg still exists and Padberg family members are found throughout Europe, North America, and Australia.

There has been much research in Germany on our family and several books have been published in German. In the United States, Daniel Padberg has been researching family members who have settled in the US and Canada. We are grateful to Dan for his many years of research and his 1986 translation of The Changes Through Time The History of the Community of Padberg, a thorough family history originally published in German in 1963.
